Teaching Interventions

I'm not surprised to see that 'Small Group Tutoring' tops the list for the Most Effective teaching interventions in this article by the New York Times.

Although I focus largely on 1-2-1 tutoring, seeing my students make such rapid progress is one of the absolute pleasures of the tutoring world. I have been delighted with the progress one of my students has made in English Language this evening.

I'm also not surprised to see that 'Allow AI Use' is right at the bottom. At present, it's just too tempting for students to ask AI to write the assignment for them.

Given the controversy over the publication of 'C'était ça ou mourir' in France, it seems that grown adults - including published authors - feel much the same temptation!
