My Story
After 12 years in the classroom, I swapped the path to middle management for tutoring. With rising class sizes, rising school fees and rising pressures on staff time, tutoring offered me the opportunity to give students what they really needed: regular, targeted and personalised support.
It also offered me the opportunity to focus on the area that I loved the most, and the very reason that I entered teaching: inspiring a passion in students for English.
Unlike many graduate tutors, I hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) and have examined for multiple exam boards. This means I understand the criteria and standards against which student’s scripts will be marked.
Unlike many teacher-tutors, I tutor full time and have worked with some of the leading agencies in the country. This means that I understand what makes tutoring distinct from teaching; I also have the time to focus on your child fully, in place of squeezing tutoring between staff meetings and marking.
In addition to the qualifications listed below, I hold full membership of The Tutor’s Association.
