Specialisms
Over more than a decade in leading schools and as a GCSE examiner, I have found that I make the greatest difference for particular kinds of students and families: those aiming high, those who need structure or stretch, and those whose busy or complex circumstances mean they need someone they can trust to take the lead.
If any of the descriptions below sound familiar, we are likely to work very well together.
We’d be a good fit if your child…
is aiming for the top grades (7–9) and needs the precision and polish to get there
is strong at STEM but finds English vague or unpredictable, and needs a clear framework to approach it with confidence
is naturally gifted in the arts but needs stretching and pushing to reach their full potential
used to enjoy and do well in English, but has lost their way and needs a steer and some renewed motivation
is in Years 7 to 9 and would benefit from enrichment beyond the classroom, building strong foundations well before GCSE
We’d be a good fit if you…
work long hours or travel frequently, and need someone reliable to take English off your plate entirely
find that your child won’t accept help from you (a very common situation, and nothing to worry about)
can support your child with STEM subjects but need help with English, whether that’s because it isn’t your own strength or because English isn’t your family’s first language, and want to make sure your child is well prepared for university
