I’m Timothy Lunn, an English teacher and GCSE examiner with 12 years’ experience in leading schools, including The Perse and Habs Boys. I have taught more than 1,500 students over 10,000 hours, and I offer one-to-one online tuition from 11+ to A-Level and Oxbridge, with examiner-standard marking and assessment.

I have examined for AQA and OCR across multiple exam series; in 2027, I shall be examining GCSE English for AQA and IGCSE English for both Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International Education.

I currently tutor students from Dulwich College, St Paul’s, Magdalen College School, The Perse, Habs Boys, Stephen Perse Foundation, as well as leading state schools, and work with families across the UK and around the world, including in China, India and the UAE.

Last year, 100% of my GCSE students achieved grades 7–9 in English Language, and 96% in Literature. Most improve by two or more grades, and I have a 100% GCSE pass rate. Some students even achieved full marks in one paper. Beyond the exam hall, my students have also won awards for creative writing, most recently two distinctions in the National Theatre’s New Views creative writing prize.
