7+ & 11+ Open Days

For many children, the 7+ and 11+ can feel unnerving.

I remember sitting in a room with children I didn't know taking a test I didn't really understand. I might have understood the questions, but I didn't understand why I was taking it, where I was, or why it was important. It was a high stakes exam at quite a young age.

Speaking to parents this week has made clear to me how much the culture has shifted.

Schools now offer visits before the exams, tours around the schools, as well as welcome days.

These events make such a difference to the families that enter their children for the 11+, representing such a positive change.
